Synesthesia

$3,600.00

This painting is inspired by a song I love called Synesthesia by Andrew McMahon.

Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon that is quite common in people and children with Autism, among others with heightened sensory receptors. A topic that is very near and dear to my heart and life. This way of sensory perception triggers colors when hearing sounds, touch, taste and even associating things like words, numbers and letters with a specific color.

This painting is my interpretation of a mind that sees, feels, smells and processes life in color. As an artist, this explains so much about my life, and how I personally experience the world.

When my son was very young, he told me once I smelled like green. And now that statement makes much more sense to me.
